It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished Nathan Dakota Hill, a treasured husband and father, loving son, dear brother, and forever friend who left this world far too early. Dakota’s tragic passing has left an emptiness in our hearts that will never be filled. Dakota went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2023, he graced us with memories that will never be forgotten.
Dakota was the prime example of a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. His phone was always on loud for those who needed him. The love he had for his kids was unmatched from homework, baseball, and video games, he was there for them when they needed him. As a husband he exemplified selflessness, his world and heart belonged to his wife. As a son he excelled in all categories from education to occupation. As an older brother he was a best friend, hunting partner, mentor, and leader. As a friend he was as good as they come, the bond he created with them will last an eternity.
We all know Dakota is in the most comfortable duck blind Heaven has to offer. No more waiting on a second pass we know they are decoyed in the spread he set out. He loved his grandmother with all of his heart and although she is still on Earth with us, we are sure Dakota is requesting some of his Nana’s cooking.
Dakota attended West Monroe High School and received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Louisiana Tech University where he was part of the Sigma Nu fraternity. After graduation Dakota accepted a job with Lazenby and Associates where he met some of his lifelong friends. Dakota also worked for Showcase Video filming and running replay for a production team. While not working Dakota enjoyed hunting, hanging out with friends and family, and spending time with his wife and kids. Dakota was also a fervent follower of Christ; he attended Christ Church of West Monroe Louisiana where he partook in small groups and men’s retreats.
Dakota is survived by his wife, Mary Helen; his sons, Walker and Wesley; his parents, Rhonda and Greg Hill; his brother, Tristan Hill; and his grandparents, Wanda and Nathan Hill.
Dakota is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Samis Albritton; and his uncle’s, Brandon and Mark Albritton.
