Graveside funeral services celebrating the life of William Troy Lewis, 79, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, March 2, 2026 at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Alex Devillier officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
William’s life was a testament to grit, heart, and the kind of quiet humor that could light up any day. Born club footed and told he’d never walk, he spent the first five years of his life in a full leg cast but he proved every prediction wrong. That early fight shaped the determined, down to earth man he became.
He spent many years as a plumber before retiring, known for his reliability, his work ethic, and the one liners he delivered with perfect timing. Outside of work, the outdoors was his true home. He loved trail riding, farming hay, tending to his cows, and casting a line whenever he could. He was a heel in team roping, a role he embraced with skill and spirit, and he proudly served as a judge for the National Border Collie Association, bringing fairness and deep knowledge to every event.
He is preceded in death by his father, Will Lewis; brother, Nelson Lewis; and granddaughter, Sicily Paige Parks.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his son, Adam Lewis and wife, Dawn; grandchildren, Zach Wiggins and Austin Parks and wife, Tristan; great grandchildren, Maverick, Marlee, and Watson; brother, Dale Lewis and wife, Dolly; mother, Amy Lewis; and numerous other relatives.
The family would like to extend their immense gratitude to Dr. Clyde Elliott, Dr. Coy Gammage, and David Turner at Alpha Home Health. As well as all the staff that assisted in his care.
William lived simply, honestly, and with a love for the land and animals that shaped his days. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, humor, and a life lived close to the things that mattered most. His presence will be deeply missed, but the stories he leaves especially those famous one liners will be told for years to come.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Wilton, Missouri for all his family and friends to attend.
