Nathan Paul Nixon

Memorial services for Nathan Nixon, 37, of Portales will be held at 1:00 PM, Fri., Mar. 25, 2022 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Don Hay officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery. All of Nathan's family members will be honorary pallbearers.
Nathan Paul Nixon was born May 31, 1984 in Portales to Denise Ann Nixon and Kenneth Artist, and died at his home in Portales on Mar. 20, 2022. As a young man, he went to Roswell where he eared his CDL, and throughout most of his working life he worked as a truck driver. At different times he had driven for Griego and Sons and Garcia Trucking. His last employment was at Dairy Farmers of America pulling milk samples.
For some time now, he had been in failing health, and unable to work. When his health would permit, he had been remodeling his house. He was an excellent artist, and had decorated various walls in his home with his murals. For spare income, he occasionally installed car stereos for people.
He is survived by his fiancé, Adriana Alvarez of Portales; his son, Jayden Nixon, three step-sons, Manuel, Elario and Adrian Aranda and a step-daughter, Priscilla Matheny all of the home; his mother, Denise Nixon of Portales and his father and step-mother, Kenneth and Deanna Artist of Weatherford, TX; and a sister, Natalee Jones of Portales; as well as other family members and his many friends.
