Nathaniel Newman

Nathaniel "Nathan" Newman, a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, passed away on June 17, 2025, in Morgantown, WV, after a life steeped in kindness and intelligence. Born on September 5, 1987, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Nathan was a light in the lives of all who knew him.
Nathan's early life was the foundation for a man who would become known for his remarkable intellect and gentle heart. This foundation was nurtured by his proud parents, Keith M. Newman and Shirley E. Harrison, and it grew stronger with the companionship of his caring siblings, Miriam and Noah Newman. Nathan shared a profound love and an unbreakable bond with his wife, Lauren E. Bucsko Newman. Together, they built a life filled with joy and mutual respect.
Following a successful academic journey, Nathan earned his Master's degree in Software Engineering, which fueled his passion for solving complex problems. Talented in his field, he worked with dedication as a software engineer for Realtor.com, where he was well-respected by colleagues for his expertise, and by his peers for his willingness to lend a helping hand.
Nathan's interests reached far beyond the world of technology. His love for music was evident to anyone who heard the notes flow from his trumpet, an instrument he played with precision and heart. A compassionate soul, Nathan had a deep love for animals and a genuine concern for the environment, guiding his everyday choices and inspiring those around him to be more conscientious of the world they shared. He also enjoyed spirited technical discussions with his friend Cole, covering such diverse topics as movies, philosophy, politics, math and science, art and music. Nathan enjoyed nothing more than a spirited debate.
An unassuming mathematician at heart, Nathan found joy in the beauty of numbers and equations. His ability to unravel complex mathematical puzzles was second only to the warmth with which he treated everyone he encountered.
To say that Nathan Newman was 'kind' and 'intelligent' only begins to scrape the surface of his character. Those who were privileged to know Nathan will remember a life marked by an unrelenting dedication to his family, his field, and the world at large.
A private funeral was held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at McCulla Funeral Home. Following the service, Nathan was laid to rest at East Oak Grove Cemetery. Nathan's memory would be honored by donations to your local Animal Shelter, Animal Rescue, the ASPCA, or a Suicide Prevention charity.
