Mr. Nathaniel "Nip" Usry

Our beloved, Nathaniel Usry, 68, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at his residence. Nathaniel, a.k.a. Nip was born on August 4, 1954 in McDuffie County, GA to both the late Grady Usry and Ezell Paschal Usry. Nip accepted the Lord and Savior into his life at an early age and attended Stoney Grove CME Church of Warren County, GA. He served faithfully in the Choir, the Usher Board, and the Sunday School Ministries until his departure from this side of earth.
Nathaniel was affectionately known as Daddy, Nip, Pa-Pa, Coach Nip, or Nay. He was loved by all that had the privilege of being in his presence. He was the life of the party. He loved to dance, laugh, and just have a good time. He was always happy, and his happiness was contagious. He had a love for ministering wisdom to the young and old. His favorite pastimes included spending time and traveling with his wife, loving and bragging on his girls, Sheeda and Sharro, being a Pa-Pa, hanging out with "The Boys", watching the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Braves, and sitting in his rocker on Sunday evenings listening to Mighty Peanut.
Nathaniel attended McDuffie County Schools and was a proud graduate of the Thomson High School Class of 1972. He retired from Georgia Pacific in Warrenton, Ga in 2018 after 39 years. Nathaniel was a member of the Thomson Hornets Baseball Team, and the TC Travel Club. Nathaniel, a.k.a. Coach Nip was also a proud Coach for the Thomson Recreation Department beginning the year 1979. Coach Nip touched the lives of many of the youth here in McDuffie County. He not only coached and taught various sports, but he also instilled morals and values into everyone he coached or encountered back then.
Loved ones left to cherish his memories: the love of his life, his wife, Mrs. Barbara Usry; his two heartbeats, daughters, Rasheeda Burchell Usry and Nisharro Usry (Mantrell) Wilson; two bonus children, Angelia (James) Grier and Antwone Story; seven grandchildren, Ahvee Wilson, Caiden Wilson, Bryce Wilson, Amber Burnett, Brittany Brown, Arielle Grier and Jamia Grier; four sisters, Faye Paschal, Barbara Paschal, Ernestine Usry and Yvette (Carl) Burns; two brothers, George Paschal and Joe Grady Usry; five nieces, Valerie Gilbert, Kimberly Usry, Titta Usry, Beverly Evans and Theresa Evans; three nephews, Anthony Scott, Reginald Paschal and Renardo Paschal; five sisters-in-law, Annie Ashley, Janice Mays, Carrie (David) Cummings, Debra Martin and Audrey Wheeler; two brothers-in-law, Norsie "NL" (Darlene) Martin and Larry Martin; three best friends, Freddie Taylor, Jamie Burnett and Mitchell Fanning; "The Boys" (Patrick Rogers and the Crew); his Hayesline Family; a host of other family members and additional friends.
