Natvar Contractor

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Natvar (Nate) Contractor who left us on October 26, 2025. Born in Surat, Gujarat, India on November 6, 1945, he was fondly known as Bhurya in his youth and Nate as an adult in the US. Natvar was the first in his family to graduate from college in India. His ambition and desire to make the most of his life led him to immigrate to the US in 1970 on an education VISA. He later received a masters degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University.
In the 80's, Natvar settled in South Jersey where he established his own construction and consulting business. His passion and love for his work caused him to develop lasting professional relationships and he became a mentor to many during his almost 50 year career.
Family was also very important to Natvar. He was proud to have been able to assist in settling many family members in the US. His decision to follow his dreams afforded many of his family with their own opportunities to pursue their dreams and highest goals. He was proud of the bonds he'd created in his professional and personal life and was always there for those who needed his help and support. Those who knew Natvar, knew him as a man full of life and laughter. His favorite pastime included enjoying good food in good company. Natvar's fun-loving, generous spirit lives on in all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Young Kim, his brother Jayantilal Contractor and his wife Ansuya, ex-wife Kalpana Contractor; his three daughters, Sheetal Contractor and husband Shawn Vogt, Tejal Raoof and husband Nazar Raoof, Mina Kim and husband Jubin Kim; his sons Sangwook Park and Woongkyu Han; his grandchildren Zander Raoof, Cyrus Raoof, Levi Kim, Nora Kim, and Seo-eun Han. Natvar is preceded in death by his parents, Prabhudas and Savita Contractor, his wife Oak Kang, his sister Premila Umrania, and his son Jongkyu Han. Natvar's spirit lives on in all who knew and loved him.
The celebration of Natvar's life will take place at Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 New Jersey 27, North Brunswick Township, New Jersey, 08902, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 9:30 am EDT.
