Neal Myrick, 85, of Topeka passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. He was born May 28, 1940 the son of Francis D. and Mildred L. Medlock Myrick. Mr. Myrick lived in the Topeka area all his life. Neal attended Topeka High where he was a Madrigal Singer and graduated from Topeka High school in 1959. He later attended Washburn University. He was the parts manager at Wilcox RV Center from March of 1978 until September of 2008. He later worked for Roach Hardware from 2008 until retiring in 2015.
He belonged to the Methodist Church, Sunrise Optimist Club, Past President of Seaman Booster Club, Past President of the Perry Squares Dance Club. Growing up Neal was a Boy Scout and achieved an Eagle Scout Award, He was a Mason and belonged to Topeka Lodge #17, and Blue Lodge at Hoyt. He was also a member of the North Topeka Saddle Club.
Neal was a music lover, enjoying opera and jazz. He enjoyed all kinds of movies and most sports, especially KU, Chiefs, and Royals. He did football filming in the Seaman School District for 15 years. He loved doing that. Neal loved to fish, enjoy picnics, yard parties, BBQ’s, picnic on the farm, playing cards, and was an antique lover. He enjoyed making homemade ice cream, feeding and watching the birds. He had a huge Father Time collection, had a great stuffing recipe from his dad’s old family recipe and it was great.
He married Patricia Ann McNorton on June 6, 1965. They were blessed to have shared 60 years together this past summer.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Myrick of Topeka; sons, Shawn D. Myrick of Cairo, Nebraska, Michael Todd Myrick and Chad Allen Myrick (Shelley) both of Scranton, Kansas; two siblings, Danny Myrick (Sandy) of Topeka and John Myrick (Kathy) of Kittridge, Colorado; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
He loved his family especially his three sons, Shawn, Mike, and Chad and their families. He loved to show off his grandchildren and all of the great grandchildren and teased them all.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, JoAnn Hildebrandt in 1993.
Dementia is a cruel foe, along with Alzheimer Parkinson’s Disease. For the family and friends that worked beside us through these last several years, all of the family really appreciate all of your help through these times.
The family would like to recognize the Health Care of Holton and Ascend Hospice of Topeka for the care they provided.
The family will receive friends at Parker-Price and Davidson Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, October 21, 2025, from 6-8 pm at Parker-Price and Davidson, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka Ks 66608 Graveside services will be held at Rochester Cemetery on Wednesday, October 22nd at 10:30 am. Following the funeral, a reception will be held at the Parker-Price and Davidson Reception Center at 1940 NW Central, Topeka, Ks 66608. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seaman Booster Club or the Hoyt Masonic Lodge.
