Parker-Price & Davidson Cremations, Funerals, ReceptionsJoan Speake passed away at 95 years old on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at St Francis Hospital. Joan was born July 27, 1930, in Springfield MO, where she met and married Bob, her high school sweetheart in September 1950.
Joan was proceeded in death by husband Bob Speake, parents Bert and Ruby Morelock, brother Bert Morelock Jr., daughter-in-law Elaine Speake
Joan is survived by her brother Mike (Susan) Morelock, sister-in-law Shirley Morelock; sons Dr Bruce (Rosie) Speake, Bob Speake, Jim (Peggy) Speake, her 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, “granddaughters of the heart” Kendra and Kolby Tally as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joan, Bob and their three boys moved to Topeka in 1965. She was a proud homemaker with enthusiasm for volunteering with Big Brothers & Big Sisters, MOPS Organization and many school and church events. Joan was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church generating lifelong friendships. She loved watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sports, school activities, and just playing. Joan never met a stranger and had the “gift” of conversation (understatement) and lived life to its fullest.
The family attended the immediate burial together. A “life celebration” is scheduled at 10:30 on January 16, 2026, at Followship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th Ave Topeka KS 66615
