Ronald A. Stevens, 89, of Topeka passed away on December 8, 2025. He was born September 22, 1936 in Scranton, Pennsylvania the son of Alfred and Bloydwyn Aston Stevens. Ronald was raised in Scranton, PA and graduated from Scranton Tech. high school. Following high school, Ron joined the United States Air Force.
He was married to Emmy Scribner. Ron and Emmy shared an incredible 67 years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories.
He served over 20 years as an engine technician while serving in the Air Force.
After his retirement, Ron began a career with the United Postal Service. Ron was a member Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, and was member of Masonic Lodge Golden Rule No. 90 A.F. & A.M.
Ron is survived by nieces Terri Winowich, her husband Greg of Concord, NC. Tracy Lubeck-Traver and nephew Ted Lubeck of Scranton PA. and his Friend Tom Kelley II and his wife Kathryn of Topeka and his faithful companion Stubby his miniature schnauzer; son-in-law, Timothy Mesa; grandchildren, Shawn (Corinne) Merideth, Matthew Merideth, Michael Mesa and five great grandchildren.
Ron’s wife Emmy Lou Stevens passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, Topeka
Others preceding him in death are his daughter, Suzanne Meredith, who left us on January 7, 2025; son Jim Stevens on March 28, 2009; and sister Carolyn Leola who passed away on September 1, 2025.
We will remember Ron during his memorial service at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Parker-Price and Davidson Cremations and Funeral Services, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, Kansas 66608. Military honors and inurnment will be held follow the memorial service at Memorial Park Cemetery.
