In loving memory of Neil Clark Hockstad
Neil Clark Hockstad passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 63, while on an adventure of a lifetime; living on a sailing catamaran, scuba diving, and fishing in the Caribbean Sea.
Neil was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on February 26, 1962, to Raymond Leslie Hockstad and Catherine Clark Hockstad. The family later moved to Escanaba, Michigan, where Neil attended Escanaba High School and graduated in 1980. He then attended Michigan State University, where he graduated in 1984 with a degree in Advertising and Marketing.
After graduating from MSU, Neil married his then-wife, Margaret (Margie) Mary Kalie. They moved to Colorado, where they eventually settled in Boulder. Neil fell in love with Colorado and stayed in the greater Boulder area the remainder of his life. Neil and Margie later welcomed two children, Kyle Clark Hockstad and Alison Kalie Hockstad (Voet).
An entrepreneur to his core, Neil worked to grow a multitude of companies, most within the health supplements industry. He was devoted to helping bring healthy products to market and was passionate about encouraging healthy habits for everyone. He was an expert at building relationships and was a force to be reckoned with in a professional setting.
Neil was passionate about everything he did, from his career to his hobbies. He loved the outdoors fiercely, actively hunting, camping, skiing, scuba diving, fishing, and waterskiing his whole life. He shared all of these hobbies with his children and was his happiest in the mountains or water with them by his side. Recently, Neil had become Papa to his two favorite people in the world, his grandchildren, Maya and Mason.
Neil was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hockstad. He is survived by his mother, Catherine Hockstad, his three brothers, Raymond, Eric, and Douglas Hockstad, his two children, Kyle Hockstad and Ali Voet, and his two grandchildren, Maya and Mason.
A Celebration of Life for Neil will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at The Greenbriar Inn at 11:30 AM following an intimate family service. 8735 N Foothills Hwy, Boulder, CO 80302.
