Neil Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Life Tributes Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Dec. 22, 2025.
Neil M. Wright, age 74, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, December 19, 2025, under the compassionate care of St. Croix Hospice.
Neil was born on February 20, 1951, in Marshfield, to Floyd and Violet (Schumacher) Wright. He attended St. John's Catholic School and was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. Neil dedicated 48 years of faithful service to Fabral Metal Wall and Roof Systems in Marshfield, retiring after a long and respected career.
On February 2, 1973, Neil was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Bores. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Stephanie and Jason. Neil was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. His family was his greatest joy, and spending time with those he loved meant everything to him.
Neil found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, tinkering in his garage, and taking trips to the casino. He also loved traveling, especially visiting Deadwood, South Dakota. Neil was a proud supporter and participant in FISH: Fishing Inspires Special Hearts, a cause that was close to his heart. These were the moments when he relaxed, laughed, and truly enjoyed life. Neil had a big heart and was known for his kindness and generosity, always willing to help anyone in need.
His family was truly his world, and his wife, children, and grandchildren will deeply miss him while forever cherishing the memories they shared together.
Neil is survived by his wife, Mary Wright; his daughter, Stephanie (Tim) Spaeth of Marshfield; his son, Jason (Michele) Wright of Mosinee; his grandchildren, Tyler (Lindsey) Spaeth of Marshfield, Travis (Lindsay) Wright of Wausau, Alexis (Derek) Fouks of Mosinee, and Ryan Spaeth of Marshfield; his sisters, Luann (Lance) Connor of Spencer and Marge (Dick) Hebert of Marshfield; his brothers, Daniel (Jan) Wright of Pittsville and Keith (Chellen) Wright of Marshfield; and his faithful cat, Winnie.
He is also survived by his in-laws, Marge (Terry) Oppman of Marshfield; sisters-in-law, Betty Scheppler, Sally Schmidt, both of Marshfield, and Judy (Rick) Bores of Wausau; brother-in-law, Kenny (Jeanie) Bores of Marshfield; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Violet Wright; his brother, David Wright; his parents-in-law, Ray and Annie Bores; his brothers-in-law, Joe Scheppler and Tom Schmidt; his sister-in-law, Darlene Bores; his nephew, Derek Mess; and his beloved feline companion, Favre.
Per Neil's wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer, Pam, and Paula of St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time, as well as to the many nurses and CNAs at St. Joseph's Hospital. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Compassionate care and arrangements are entrusted to Life Tributes Funeral Home–Spencer. The family invites you to share memories and condolences at www.lifetributesfuneralhome.com.
