Theodore "Ted" "Uncle Mike" J. Meyer, 84, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025 at House of the Dove, Marshfield, surrounded by his family and special friends, Dan and Bernice Becker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer with Father Nathan officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352 of Stratford at the church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield with a rosary service at 6:30 pm and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Ted was born on November 20, 1941 in Stratford to Bill and Lorraine (Laessig) Meyer. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1959.
Ted proudly served in the United States Army from 1964-1966, serving in the Philippines and Vietnam where he did Morse code intercept.
He married Joan Gehrke on May 10, 1969 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Arpin.
Ted was employed at Chrysler Corporation, Belvedere, IL, and managed offices of Wisconsin Finance and later the Marshfield Co-op for 35 years.
He loved spending time at the cabin. He also enjoyed coaching Shady Lane 4-H softball, ATV riding, and socializing with his neighbors. He and Joan hobby and crop farmed as well.
He is survived by his wife, Joan and daughters, Debbie (Jerry) Helfert and Lori Meyer, all of Spencer.
He is further survived by bothers, Eugene "Fritz" (Sandy) Meyer of Hibbing, MN and John (Julia) Meyer of Wausau, and sisters, Lois (Pete) Peterson of Birchwood, Mary (Ron) Fandry of Winter, and Barb Kaiser of Washburn, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister and brothers-in-law Yvonne and Howard Kumbier and Dale Gehrke.
