Nelda Delois (Stahnke) Reid, 95, of Katy, Texas formerly of Brownwood, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2025. A visitation with the family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 11, 2025 and a Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 12, 2025 in Eastlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Nelda was born in Hamilton, Texas on August 4, 1930 to Louis and Ida (Welticke) Stahnke. She graduated high school in Priddy, Texas and married Richard Sealy Reid on December 22nd, 1951 in Goldthwaite, Texas. Nelda was a life long Lutheran who attended Grace Lutheran church in Brownwood, Texas. Nelda was a homemaker for Richard and they raised two wonderful kids while traveling and living all over west Texas and the panhandle. Richard worked for El Paso Natural Gas so they were always on the go. She loved traveling both domestically and foreign. Nelda was active in the children's school activities and church activities. She was a wonderful Grandma and Great Grandma.

Nelda is survived by her son, Stephen Gregory Reid and wife, May-Leng; daughter, Linda Carolyn Peppins and husband, Larry Peppins; granddaughters, Ellen Reid Adams, Bethany Shatara; grandsons, Richard Reid, Stephen Peppins, David Peppins; and great grandchildren, Isa Shatara, Faith Shatara, Layla Shatara, Orion Adams, Archer Adams; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Reid; a sister, Benita Wesson; and her parents.
