Nellie Jo Brown, 93, formerly of
Greenville, MO, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Aspire Senior Living in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was born in Perryville, TN, September 16, 1932, to parents Joe and Dovie (Allen) Conder. Nellie was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She married Roy Lee Wilson on June 24, 1946, and they were blessed with eight children. Together they built a life full of love and cherished memories until his passing on February 19, 1974. Nellie married Carl Edward Brown and to this union she gladly added three stepchildren to her loving family, whom she cherished and loved with all her heart. Carl passed on July 4, 2006. Nellie was a strong believer of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Kime General Baptist church. Her faith was evident in her conversation and testimonies. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Greenville. In her younger years, she loved to fish, work in her garden, quilt, cook and take care of the children. She was always nurturing and a hard worker all her life, even picked cotton when she was young. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and grace that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but we rejoice knowing she is now at peace in the arms of her creator, well done, good and faithful servant. Matthew 25. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Roy, of twenty-seven years; her second husband, Carl, of twenty-nine years; children: Roy Lee Wilson Jr., Joann Osborn, Lottie Marler, Linda Hill; stepson: Don Brown; brother: James, JC, and John Luther Conder; and sister: Rosetta Carrol. Nellie is survived by her children: Nancy Griffin, Betty Whitmore and husband Rick, Tina Elder and husband Ted, Rhonda Jeffries and husband Carlos; son-in-law: Bill Marler; stepchildren: Carl Anthony Brown, Kathy Christman and husband Phil. Her joy was multiplied as she had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends, each of whom she cherished deeply. Nellie's boundless love for her family was returned to her many times over. Visitation was held at 5:00 pm, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service was held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 9, 2025, also in the Greenville Chapel. Bro. Kenny Burchard, and Bro. Everett Meese ministered to the family. Special recorded songs were shared. Bro. Tommy Brown read the obituary. Ryan Elder, Tyler Elder, Ronnie Scott, Timmy Marler, Nick Whitmore, and Joey Elder served as pallbearers. Burial followed in Kime Cemetery near Greenville.
