Nellie Ruth Kinlaw

Nellie Parnell Kinlaw, 98, of Bladenboro passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Rosa Parnell, husband, Crofton Kinlaw, infant daughter Lois Ray, brother, James Parnell, and her fur baby "Bambi". Nellie is survived by two daughters: Shirley Hester and husband Leo, Sandra Long and husband Marshall, one brother: Frank Parnell and wife Inez, five grandchildren: Russell Hester and wife Laurie, Mike Hester, Ricky Hester and wife Connie, David Long and wife Beth, and Daniel Long. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren, Amanda Hester Gooch, Sara Hester, Ryan Hester, Shannon Hester, Jamie Hester, Jay Hester, Guy Hester, Jessica Hester, Jonathan Hester, Wyatt Long and 15 great-great grandchildren. Nellie was a loving, hardworking and very giving lady. She loved her family and her church. Nellie enjoyed tending her beautiful flowers and helping others. She continued mowing her own yard until age 98 and driving the golf cart even though she may have had to be pulled out of the fields from getting stuck a time or two. She never worried about aging, just looked forward to each new day. Nellie was such an outgoing and lively person that loved the Lord and will forever be in the hearts of all that knew her. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Friday, June 8th at Sandy Grove Baptist Church in Bladenboro followed by a funeral service at 2 pm with Rev. Jerry Beck and Rev. William "Bill" Cooper officiating. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
