Nelson Luther Corderman

Nelson Luther Corderman, 84, of Greencastle, PA, passed away at his home on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Born on December 29, 1940, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Howard Corderman and Rosie (Hankey) Corderman.
Over the years, Nelson took on a variety of roles, ultimately retiring as a service manager in the trucking industry. Nelson proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran.
A true car enthusiast, Nelson had a lifelong passion for working on cars, racing them, and showing them. He was also an active member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Nelson was a proud member of the VFW of Greencastle, Post 6319, Moose 1790 of Mercersburg, Eagles Club INC, Elks Lodge 378, Fraternal Order of Eagles, A.R.C.H., Waynesboro Fish and Game Club and Life member of AMVETS Post 10, American Legion Post 211 and the North American Hunt Club..
Nelson was a fighter, having courageously battled cancer seven times. His strength and perseverance inspired all who knew him.
Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sib Corderman, his daughter, Wendy (Jay) Moore; his son, Steve Corderman; his grandsons, Connor Moore (fiancée Hannah Hartman) and Randy Moore; and 30 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Corderman.
A service to celebrate Nelson's life will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 3:00pm at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown, MD 21742, with Reverend Tom Young officiating. The family will greet friends and loved ones at the funeral home an hour before the service, from 2 PM to 3 PM.
Inurnment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.
