Nereida Otten

Nereida Otten age 72 of Coon Rapids, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2023 due to a massive stroke, a brain bleed, and as well as other ailments.
Nereida was born on May 18th, 1951 to Isabel and Enrique Sumosa in Panama.
In 1972, Nereida met Daniel Dale Otten Sr. in Panama, while he was in the army. Nereida and Daniel
married and went on to have three children, Michel, Katrina, and Daniel Jr. Was later divorce and lived
with her friend and caretaker Louie Demars in Coon Rapids for her remaining years.
Nereida was a home maker who spent her time sewing, painting, crocheting, taking care of her kids and
enjoying the company of her family.
Nereida was preceded in death by Former husband; Daniel Otten Sr; brother Carlos Sumosa; father Enrique Sumosa. She is survived
by her children Michel Szlavich (Joshua), Katrina Nowlan (Jeff), Daniel Otten Jr. (Jessica); her mother
Isabel Sumosa; her siblings, Ralph Sumosa (Kathy) his kids Zionda and Anthony Sumosa & Elisa Sumosa
and her kids Jose Ramirez (Shawn) and Mayte Donato-Gutzmer (Tony); her grandchildren, Brittany
Lureen-Schmidt(Trenton), Kayleen Rollins, Abigail Nowlan, Adrianna Otten, Isabel Nowlan, Harleigh
Otten; her great grandchildren Rayland James & Hunter Leonard Lureen-Schmidt; and many other loving
family members.
Services will be held at Billman-Hunt Funeral Home on Friday June 2nd at 2PM Visit 3PM Service and open to the
