Neva C. Griffith

Neva C. Griffith, 88, of Washington, formerly Houston, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 6, 2026 in Hawthorne Woods, with her family by her side.

She was born October 29, 1937, in Cameron, WV, a daughter of the late Orest and Thelma Pauline Carpenter Phillips.

Neva started work for the Canonsburg Foodland in 1980 and retired from Shop n Save in 2019.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Houston where she was an active contributor to their annual pumpkin festival booth.

Neva loved bingo, shopping especially QVC and Christmas, enjoyed polka music, dancing when she could and coordinating the work football pool. She was dedicated to helping others, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with friends and family, particularly the grand and great grandchildren.

On September 24, 1956, she married Terrance M. Griffith who died January 22, 2022.

Surviving are four children, Clayton Griffith of Houston and Harold Griffith (Lori Lee) both of Houston, Susan Hiles (Kendall) of New Hill, NC and Todd Griffith (Tracy) of Canonsburg; eight grandchildren, Roger Griffith (Heather), Jodi Feidler (Mike), Daniel Griffith (Brenda), Nicole Bianco (Michael), Spencer Hiles (Kristi), Katie Wilfong (Matthew), Jessica Griffith (Willliam Cass) and Megan Pini; 10 great grandchildren, Mason Griffith, Joseph Fiedler, Garrett and Brooke Griffith, Michael, Macy Jo, Lucia and Santino Bianco, Sophia Cass and Valerie Wilfong.

In addition to her husband and parents, a son Terrance M. "T" Griffith is deceased.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 Tuesday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with Rev. Debra Rogosky officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
