Nevaeh Marie Smith, a vibrant spirit whose brightness illuminated every room she entered, was born on March 16, 2013, in  El Paso, Texas. Tragedy struck on July 1, 2025, when this joyful young girl departed from our world, leaving behind a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit.

Nevaeh was preparing for her journey into 7th grade at DuBray Middle School. Her academic life was marked by her passionate involvement in a multitude of clubs and activities. She was an energetic member of the weight-lifting club, explored her creativity in woodshop, and found camaraderie in her adventures with Girl Scouts.

For anyone who came to know her, it was evident that Nevaeh was a whirlwind of energy; a force of nature driven by her passion for life, and an inexhaustible desire to help others. Her bubbly personality was contagious and drew people in wherever she went. With a sense of humor that could lift any heart and a chaotic spirit that never seemed to tire, she embraced each day with wild-hearted enthusiasm. Nevaeh was never one to idly sit; she thrived on action and adventure, believing that life was meant to be lived to its fullest.

She had an obsession with dinosaurs, delighting in what they represented. She was a lover of animals, a dancer, and an avid swimmer. Rollerskating brought her joy as she glided across the pavement, and her artistic side flourished through makeup experimentation and face painting. She enjoyed crafting and was starting to explore crafts like diamond art and cross-stitching with her mother.

Nevaeh is survived by her devoted parents, Wesley (Stephanie) Smith and Rachel (Del Bowles) Gellen, along with her cherished siblings: three sisters, Micheala L. Smith, Kayden D. Jones, and Daisy E. Bowles and her brother, Brevin L. Jones. She was embraced by two uncles, Bryan (Kim) Smith and Patrick (Kate) Gellen, and a maternal grandfather, Charles (Peggy) Gellen, her grandmother, Deanna Cornell, and her great-grandmother, June Rowe. Nevaeh was loved fiercely by many cousins, family members, and friends.

Preceding her in this journey were her paternal grandparents, Quin (Cheryl) Smith, her maternal grandmother, Joan Gellen, and her great-grandfather, Jim (Sharon) Pinson. We find solace in knowing that her spirit joins theirs in an eternal embrace.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please check back later for details.

Even after her death, her legacy and giving nature lives on through organ donation.

Nevaeh Marie Smith was a constellation of light, laughter, and love—a unique soul who freely offered her friendship, love, chaos, drama, and humor to all. In the memories we hold and the stories we share, her spirit will continue to dance, reminding us all to celebrate the vibrancy of life amidst its fleeting moments.
