Nichola Fowkes Obituary

Nicki was born on May 5, 1949, in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth (Shults) Becker. She married Robert "Bob" Fowkes on September 5, 1970, in Sterling. Nicki loved books and enjoyed traveling, going on many motorcycle adventures in her life. Above all things, Nicki's family was her greatest joy.
Nicki is survived by her husband, Bob; three children, Sean Christopher (Tracy) Fowkes, Jennifer Lynn Vondra, Robert Edward Fowkes; nine grandchildren, Brady Fowkes, Mackenzie Fowkes, Syrinidie Fowkes, Margaret Brenner, Peter Vondra III, Jason Vondra, Jayda West, Alexis Frey, Jordyn West; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Josie; two brothers, Walter C. (Geri) Becker, Howard M. (Marsha) Melchi; and one sister, Cherie Suzanne Jones.
Nicki was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas Becker; mother and step-father, Elizabeth and F.H. Melchi; son, Benjamin Thomas Fowkes; and brother-in-law, David Jones.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with Pastor Jack M. Briggs, officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ronald McDonald House in Nicki's name.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
