Nicholas J. 'Nick' Adamonis, a US Marine Corps Veteran, passed away Monday, March, 17, 2025. He was the best friend and husband of Katherine M. (Spaulding) Adamonis to whom he shared 14 years of marriage. Born in Long Branch, NJ, he was a son of Richard Adamonis and the late Donna M. (Rocatelli) Adamonis.
Upon graduating from High School, Nick enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served our country for over 8 years. He deployed multiple times with his unit 6th MTBN Providence, specifically to Afghanistan and Iraq under Operation Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom. As a Marine he served in the capacity of Machine Gunner, Route Security Clearance and an Expert Rifleman. Upon his discharge, he and Katie married, and they settled into home life. He was never one to stay idle. Whether it was working on one of his many home projects or cruising in his car or on his motorcycle, he lived by the mottos, 'It's all or nothing' and 'Go big or go home.' His loyalty to his family and friends and the way he welcomed everyone is what he will be remembered most for. Nick was a fierce supporter; wanting to see everyone succeed, had a strong desire to put good out to the world and would drop anything to help a friend out, even if that meant sitting around the fire in the backyard in the quiet. Above all, he loved his wife and children more than anything and made it a point to tell everyone he knew how much he loved them.
Nothing made Nick prouder than being a dad and he is survived by his two children, Damian A. and Alyssa R. Adamonis. He also leaves behind his sisters, Joy M. Adamonis and Holly Adamonis-Zuller, and his stepmother Cheryl Adamonis.
Nick left an indelible mark on all those he met in life and his love and legacy will be carried on by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 3:00-7:00pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Relatives and Friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 9:30am for a procession to the RI Veterans' Memorial Cemetery where Nick will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors.
