NICHOLAS "NICK" STEVEN ALTHOFF, 45, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away at 5:44 pm, Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born to Craig and Mary (nee Ruhmann) Althoff on December 27, 1978 in Red Bud, Illinois.
He graduated from SIUE with a degree in accounting. He worked for Kohner Properties in St. Louis, Missouri. A few years ago he became Vice President of Property Management at Kohner Properties. Nick gave his all to whatever he did.
In any family games we played, you knew he was going to win, he was extremely competitive.
He enjoyed following sports and was a season ticket holder to the St. Louis Battlehawks. When the St. Louis Rams left St. Louis, he started cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Trout fishing was also one of his favorite pastimes with his Fiancee, Michelle. He earned his Missouri Lunker Patch in 2022 at Montauk State Park. Any vacation spent fishing was fine with him. He was also an avid gardener and liked doing home carpenter projects. He has the largest selection of Ryobi tools.
He was the best FUNCLE (Fun Uncle) to his nephew, Graham, who always sat by his side. Together, they went to baseball card shows, fishing, and camping.
Nick was selfless, as he thought of others and marked on his driver's license to be an organ donor. They took tissue from his body which can help 70 plus children in the St. Louis area and the gift of sight for someone as well.

Nick was always thinking of others and he would want everyone to do the same. In lieu of flowers and memorials, take the money and do something thoughtful for yourself and your loved ones. Think of Nick when you are doing that. That would make him smile.
