Nicholas "Nicky" L. Amundson, 40, of Plymouth, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. He was born on January 24, 1985, in Appleton, Wisconsin, the beloved son of Howard Amundson and Patricia "Trisha" Powell. Nick graduated from Kingsford High School in 2003 and went on to build a dedicated career in the foundry industry. He worked for several years as a melt supervisor at the Neenah Foundry and Gunite Foundry, where he took pride in working alongside his father, Howard. Most recently, he served as a melt superintendent at Willman Industries in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where his strong work ethic and leadership shone through. A man of many passions, Nick found joy in golfing and gaming, often spending time perfecting his swing or immersing himself in virtual worlds. He was also a gifted guitar player with a deep love for music, which brought light to those around him. His talents and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Above all, his greatest love was his family. He was loyal and true, and he never missed a chance to take care of those he loved. Sometimes it was in big ways, and sometimes in the little everyday moments-but his family always knew they could count on him. He gave freely, loved deeply, and would have given the shirt off his back without a second thought. His devotion was steady and sure, and it will live on in the hearts of those he loved most. Nick is survived by his father, Howard Amundson of Plymouth, Wisconsin; his mother, Patricia "Trisha" Powell of Plymouth, Wisconsin; his beloved brother, Brian (Barb) Amundson of Kingsford, Michigan; and their children, Bianca, Lincoln, Waylon, and Emery. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain, Michigan. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will take place at Homestead-Aurora Cemetery in Aurora, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Nick's memory. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Nicholas L. Amundson at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com. The family has entrusted Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
