Nicholas Dees Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Reade & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. - Fresno on Dec. 19, 2025.
With heavy hearts we announce the passing to Heaven of our beloved son, Nicholas Alan Dees, who left us in December of 2025, at the tender age of 20. Born to Jason Dees and Heidi Eidson on April 12, 2005 in Fresno, California, Nicholas was a bright soul, the most caring gentleman, and protective and loving brother to his 3 sisters, Taylor, Paige and Macie. His calm manner and genuine heart was recognized instantly by all that new him, as well as strangers blessed to meet him for the first time.
Nicholas attended San Joaquin Memorial High School, where he enjoyed playing sports, including baseball and basketball, where his team went on to win the state championship during his senior year. After graduation, Nicholas attended Cal State University at Chico for one year and then chose his passion to help manage the family pistachio ranch, being closer to family and friends.
Nicholas' grandmother, "Grandma Sherry", adored Nicholas and Taylor and would keep them as much as 10 days at a time if she could get away with it! Nicholas' grandfather, Randy, has a very strong relationship with his grandchildren, especially Nicholas. Through his devotion and generosity, they attended countless trips, including their annual Giants games. Nicholas' Grandpa Chuck was so important in Nick's life, providing wisdom, direction, and unconditional love every time they got together, especial by way of the "Dad Jokes".
Nicholas spent many summers at Larry and Carolyn Backowski's Home (Nana and Papa Larry) Swimming and playing all sorts of fun games. Nicholas was the only Grandchild that could dive into the pool and score a basket at the same time.
His entire life, Nicholas was the sweetest well-mannered young man you could have ever known. He loved to play, he loved to work on the ranch, he deeply loved his family and friends. Nicholas didn't have a mean bone in his body, but instead would always be a voice of reason and kindness.
Nick loved to play golf with his father, step-mother Sable, uncle, and friends. Fishing with his friends, family and father were some of his most cherished activities.
Nick shared countless hours with his Mom, Heidi, teaching her how to golf and filling that time with laughter and meaningful moments together. From a early age Nick deeply connected to his family and valued staying close to the people he loved the most. Countless vacations, from Disneyland to the Beach..
At an early age Nick was given the nickname "Bubba", then his sisters changed his name to "Bubby" and he absolutely adored that. His sisters looked up to their brother and loved him with their whole heart.
Nicholas will be remembered as a funny, charming, considerate and loving man. His hugs were the most genuine expressions of love one can truly give. He opened doors for family and strangers alike, and now his door has been opened by God.
This loving young man is survived by his father Jason, step-mother Sable, mother Heidi, step-father Danny, siblings Taylor, Tay, Paige and Macie, grandparents Randy and Chuck, Gina and Jeff, Larry and Carloyn Backowski, great grandfather Bill, aunt Julie, uncle and aunts Ryan and Becky, Brian and Lacey, Ray and Tammy, Larry and Shelley, Chris and Lori, Rayleen and Joe, James and Shay, JR and Alyssa, cousins Izabella, Izaiah, Gianna, Jayden, Alexandria, Alexander, Chris and Julie, Summer as well as other extended family.
Nicholas, you will forever remain in our minds, hearts, and souls. We love you endlessly..
A celebration of Nicholas's life will be held at 9:00 am on December 24th, 2025 at Northpointe Community Church located at 4250 W. Bullard Ave. Following will be a gravesite burial at Fresno Memorial Gardens. After these events, we welcome all those attending to join us for refreshments and remembrance at The Palms restaurant in Fresno.
