Nicholas Charles Fernelius passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the age of 38.
Born on January 12, 1987, Nick was an adventurous child whose curiosity and love for the outdoors only grew with him. Over the years, he immersed himself in off-roading, dirt biking, fishing, jet skiing, camping, and sport shooting. He loved discovering new restaurants and dreaming up creative projects around the house and for his trucks. In recent years, his ability to enjoy these activities diminished as his life was slowly affected by alcoholism.
Known for his kind and giving heart, Nick was always willing to help those in need. It was fitting that, even after death, he was able to be an organ donor and continue helping others.
Adored by his family and friends, Nick shared an especially devoted bond with his dog, Josie Wales, who stayed by his side until the very end.
Nick is survived by his parents, Bart (Sandra) and Vicki; his siblings, Eric (Aubrey), Emma, and Morgan (David); and his nephew and nieces, James, Ruth, Amelia, and Paisley. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his sister Amanda.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the ICU team at Simi Valley Hospital for their care and compassion.
