Nicholas John Hewitt

Nicholas John Hewitt, born June 15, 1984, in Greely, Colorado, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his home in Sarasota on August 14.
He is survived by his wife Melissa, twin daughters Gwyneth Victoria and McKinley Ann, his mother Victoria and father Steven, his sister Kristina, and two nephews James Andrej and Samuel Nicholas, along with a large, beloved extended family.
Nicholas, known as Nick, loved his family fiercely. His greatest joy in life was being a husband and father and watching his girls grow.
Nick graduated from Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, GA in 2002.
He worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic for several years before deciding to move into the construction. Infinitely handy, he parlayed his ability to build, fix or paint just about anything into a career in the construction industry, finally landing as Warrantee Coordinator with Neal Communities.
Nick was an avid skier, outdoorsman, and firearms enthusiast. He was musically inclined and played the bass guitar. He loved military history and was a huge history buff in general. His favorite band was Dave Matthews Band. He saw them in concert every chance he got and even followed them around on tour one year.
Nick was loved dearly by his family and will be greatly missed.
A wake to honor both him and his grandmother will be held at Toale Brothers Funeral Home in Sarasota on August 21 at 6pm.
