Nicholas James Kennedy, a devoted father, cherished grandfather, beloved brother and friend, passed away peacefully late Saturday evening at home on February 8,2025, at the age of 70. An eight-year resident of Troy, Michigan, Nick also spent meaningful years in Clawson and Shelby Township, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Born on August 1, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, to Francis James and Viola Faye Kennedy, Nick grew up in the Clinton Township, attending Clintondale High School and later moving to the Eastpointe area.
He found not just a career but a second family at Loomis Armor car in Detroit, where he worked as a lead supervisor and for many years exemplified remarkable work ethic, generosity, and compassioninspiring those around him to strive for excellence.
Above all, Nick was a family man. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, filling their lives with love, laughter, and plenty of competitive card games. He simply enjoy the company of those he loved most, Nicks presence brought warmth and joy to every gathering. His family was his world, and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
Nick is deeply missed by his loving children, Jennifer (James) Busuito and Karrie (Carl) Nicholas, and his adored grandchildren, Carl Nicholas Jr., Maycee (Jake), Weissman and his soon-to-arrive great grandson, baby Weissman. He is also survived by his siblings Cynthia (John) Arnold, James (Michelle) Kennedy, Candy Schroeder and brother in law Kenneth Kendall.
He now joins in eternal rest his beloved son, Nicholas Jr., and his oldest grandson, Cody Aphelin, as well as his sister Connie Kendall. While his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, his unwavering devotion to his family will live on in their memories forever.
Honoring Nicks wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no Celebration of Life. Family invites all who loved him to share stories via Facebook on either Nicks or his two daughters page and celebrate the wonderful man he was.
Though he may no longer be at the table for a game of cards, his spirit will always be present in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest peacefully, Nickyou will be forever cherished. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Nicholas, please visit our Tree Store.
