Sharon Robertson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gramer Funeral Home - Clawson on Feb. 16, 2026.
Sharon Ann Robertson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, a resident of Troy, Michigan, for nearly 40 years, passed away at home on February 13, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply.

Born June 9, 1954, in Traverse City, Michigan, Sharon was the daughter of Virgil and Ester Bareham, who were lifelong educators and cherry growers. Sharon grew up in the town of Suttons Bay, Michigan, living a farming lifestyle, surrounded by their beautiful cherry tree orchards, on bluffs high above Lake Michigan. She graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in Remus, Michigan, in 1972 and went on to pursue her calling to care for others through education and service. She earned her teaching degree from Central Michigan University in 1976 and later completed her nuclear medicine degree at Ferris State University in 1978.

Sharon devoted ten years of her career to the nuclear medicine department at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, where her steady compassion and hardworking spirit touched many. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple, beautiful things, especially horses. She loved them, and she especially loved being in the saddle, riding whenever she could.

She loved being surrounded by nature, and she would spend hours at a time combing the beaches of Northern Michigan in search of Petoskey stones. She was an avid reader who loved venturing into far-off lands through the pages of books (a love she also instilled in her sons). Fantasy/adventure, mystery, Western, and anything centering around horses were her favorites. Sharon was a creative person who made beautiful artwork throughout her life. She loved drawing and embroidery, and she sewed several unique outfits, Halloween costumes, and blankets for her sons. Sharon was also an excellent cook, who was especially skilled at baking. She could make pies, bread, cakes, and other baked goods like you couldn't believe.

But the truest center of Sharon's world was her family. Above all, she was a devoted mom who poured her love into her sons, Jamie and Trevor. They were the light of her life-always making her eyes shine-and she gave them her whole heart, every day.

On October 1, 1983, Sharon married John in Suttons Bay, Michigan, beginning a life together rooted in love, loyalty, and family.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, John; her sons, Jamie and Trevor; and her siblings, Linda (Tim) Wernette, Diane Hamilton, Scott (Sandy) Bareham, Bryan (Rose) Bareham, and Joan (Steve) Sadler. She was also blessed by having 45 loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, whom she cherished. She is also survived by her in-laws, Karen and Dan Sutherland, Jerry and Darlene Robertson, Diane and Robert Hu, and Mary Gates, and was preceded in death by Darnell Gates and Vincent and Violet Robertson, who all loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street (Livernois, between 14 Mile Road and Maple Road), Clawson, Michigan 48017.
