Nicholas "Nick" Ryan Morcom

 

Nicholas "Nick" Ryan Morcom of Round Lake, IL. Amazing son, friend, and human left this world Friday, October 20, 2023, at the age of 35. 

Nick was born to Amy Hill and Paul Morcom in Kalamazoo, MI on May 7, 1988. He attended Plainwell High School, then continued his education at Ferris State University, where he had a double major with BA degrees in Marketing and Advertising while also completing a third program in Professional Golf Management. Following graduation, Nick spent time exploring and traveling the world while continuing to master his craft; quality time at The Grove in Hertfordshire, England and the Golf Academy in Shanghai, China. After some adventurous time away, Nick returned home and moved to the suburbs of Chicago. In Chicago, Nick continued to excel in his career and worked hard to achieve his goals. What came next in life was truly spectacular for Nick, as he was able to follow his lifelong dream and open up his own business with his father Paul, an X-Golf in Libertyville, IL. If you had the privilege to know Nick, then you know how much this truly meant to him. In December 2021, he married Amanda Wittke. 

Nick was an avid golfer, spending countless hours on the course since he was very young. However, along with golfing, it was no surprise to find him curled up watching a movie on a Friday night, with his favorite cat Kali, one of the many cats he and Amanda generously rescued. Nick will be remembered by his family and friends as the kind, caring and endlessly loving man he was. Nick had a dedication and loyalty to his friends and family that truly went unmatched. He was willing to step in and help anyone in need, at any time. 

Nick is survived by his mother Amy, his father Paul, and his wife Amanda, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roderick and Lois Hill and Wes and Marion Morcom.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 3 at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church, 2010 Nichols Rd, Kalamazoo, MI, where his remains will be interred in the church columbarium. Rev. Mary Perrin will officiate.

The Memorial Garden started as a place to lay to rest the cremains of people who had no one supporting them at the end of their life, and those whose families could not afford burial. It has expanded over time to be the chosen resting place for others.
