Nicholas (Big Nick) Sforza, 83, of Venice, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Waterbury, CT on 5/20/1942, he was the son of the late Nick and Jennie (Tiso)Sforza.

Nick was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many. His infectious smile, quick witted charm, generosity, and loving nature will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Nick is survived by his wife of 33 yrs., Linda M(Cerasale)Sforza, sister Janice Sforza of Waterbury, CT, son Nick Sforza Jr. and wife Laura of Bristol, CT, and daughter Jodie Zajkowski and husband Lester of Northport, Fl. He was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather to 7 grandchildren: Megan and husband Edwin, Nicholas and fiancé Jaime, Jenna, Zack, Zoey, Tyler and fiancé Hannah, and Nate, and 5 great-grandchildren: Bryson, Noah, Jameson, Peyton and Nicolina. He is also survived by his Aunt Agnes Geruch of Naugatuck, CT. He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law Dan Cerasale and wife Pat of Meriden, CT, Jeff Cerasale and wife Chari of Venice, FL, John Cerasale and wife Tanya of W. Columbia, SC, and sister-in-law Jean Carta and husband Lou of W. Columbia, SC, as well as many cousins and good friends.

Nick was a meat cutter by trade for over 30 yrs, and also owned Gables Café in Waterbury, CT, and L&N Mulch Recycling and L&N Trucking in Florida, until he retired. He also was a volunteer firefighter in Marion, CT, and on the Auxiliary Police force in Southington, CT prior to moving to Florida. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, boating, and bicycling, as well as traveling with his wife, friends and family. He also enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and usually was the life of the party.

Calling hours for Nick will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 9 - 11:30am, and a memorial service from 11:30am-noon, at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, CT. To sign the online guestbook or to leave online condolences for the family, please visit www.maioranofuneralhome.com.
