Born December 6, 1988 "St. Nicks Eve" in Menomonee Falls to Cynthia (nee Lom) and the late Anthony Sterr. Nick passed away on Friday May 23, 2025 at the age of 36 years due to complications from heart surgery.
Nick graduated in 2007 from Menomonee Falls High School and attended UW-Green Bay. He received a degree in Funeral Service from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Nick served his apprenticeship with Harder Funeral Home and worked as a Licensed Funeral Director for several years. Nick then chose to complete a plumbing apprenticeship beginning at Total Mechanical and most recently was a journeyman plumber and project manager at Zien Mechanical.
Nick is survived by his loving parents Cindy and Stewart Polansky, his brother and best friend Jake (Alison) Sterr. Cherished uncle to his two nephews Tony and Teddy and his niece Maddy. Loved grandson of Wilbert Lom. Step-Brother of Chris (Melissa) Polansky. Nick loved his faithful dog, Black Jack. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roger and Jean Sterr and maternal grandmother Lorraine Lom. Further survived by many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Nick's Life will take place on Saturday, June 7 at Harder Funeral Home with visitation from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 PM. Family requests casual attire. In lieu of flowers, if desired please consider a memorial in memory of Nick to Tombstone Pickerel Sno-Club.
Nick was cherished and loved. He had a heart of gold, would jump in and help anybody that needed a hand. Most of all Nick loved spending time with his family at their cottage on St. John Lake in Crandon. Nick and his brother, Jake, along with many friends loved riding the trails, fishing, hunting, enjoying a cocktail by the fire, or having a few drinks at Jerry Schuh's Bar. Nick got to know many people and touched many lives with his thoughtfulness, humor and laugh. He will be missed by everyone.
