Virginia Ann Sterr, 91, of Fond du Lac went to her heavenly home on Monday, December 8, 2025 at SSM St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on June 6, 1934 in Eden, the daughter of Arthur and Leona (nee Krause) Grahl. Virginia was baptized and confirmed at Tabor Church, Eden. She was raised on a farm near Eden, attended Jackson School and graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac.
On April 28, 1957, Virginia was united in marriage to Douglas Sterr at Immanuel Trinity Church in Fond du Lac. She was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira and the Ladies Group and presently a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. She was a member of the Lomira Library Board, the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Auxiliary, a director of the Empire Cemetery Association, and served on her FDL High School Reunion Committee. Virginia enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe, with a special trip to the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. She also gathered a large amount of family history and area history and loved to sew and do crafts.
Survivors include her son John Sterr (Barb Denzine), sister Bernice Hinn, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Douglas in 1981, parents Art and Leona Grahl, in-laws Roman and Adelheid Sterr, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ron and Donna Sterr, Gloria Ferguson, and Lyle Hinn.
Visitation will be Monday, December 15th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 855 Martin Ave. Fond du Lac.
A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Rev. Matt Grunewald will officiate and a private family burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lomira.
