Nicholas Anthony Urban, III, 80, of Lorain, OH, passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2025. Born on September 11, 1945, in Lorain to the late Nicholas and Teresa (nee Kaczur) Urban, II, he remained a proud lifelong resident of his hometown.

A 1963 graduate of Admiral King High School, Nick studied for a year at Kent State University before being drafted into the United States Army. A proud veteran and Purple Heart recipient, he served his country with courage and dedication. He later retired from U.S. Steel and the City of Lorain following many years of committed service to his community. Nick was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 451 and a former owner of Urban's Café, where he made countless friends over the years.

Nick was a cancer survivor who lived life fully and joyfully. A devoted member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, he enjoyed traveling-especially to Las Vegas and other favorite destinations where he could test his luck at the slot machines. He loved cheering on the Cleveland Browns and never missed a chance to watch the Cavs alongside his wife. He also had a serious sweet tooth, a contagious laugh, and a delightful knack for telling the very best "bad" dad jokes.

Above all, Nick treasured his family. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Jacqueline (nee Zocchi) of 42 years; his children Nicholas Urban IV and Deborah Poyle (Brian); his stepchildren Jason Daniels (Lena) and Brian Daniels; and stepdaughter-in-law Wendy Daniels. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Samuel Moore (Stephanie), Seth Daniels, Natalia Daniels, Maxwell Daniels, Isabella Daniels, Tony Poyle, Michelle Daniels, and Massimo Daniels; three great-grandchildren; his sister Toni Konowal; and niece Lynnette Stein (Jeffrey).

In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by his stepson Michael Daniels and nephew, Robert Kurant.

Family and friends may call on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 6–8 PM at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain, OH 44053. Interment with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Purple Heart Foundation at purpleheartfoundation.org.

I am so sorry for your loss, I remember his sweet tooth so well, he would pile his plate to take home and we would all laugh at him. RIP Nick
