Nicholus Stephan Wheatley, 23, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s, Columbus. Nick was born on December 19, 2001, in Athens, the son of Jennifer (O’Rourke) Wheatley and the late Daryl Wheatly.
Nick attended Beacon School in Athens and graduated from West Central School in Columbus. Nick was so jolly and full of life. He brought joy, laughter, and light with him wherever he went. Nick was extremely proud of his family and loved spending time with all his relatives. Nick loved swimming in the summer, watching movies and cartoons, and singing and music, especially Queen and Tina Turner. He also had a gift for mimicking many different voices.
Nick is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jennifer (Frederick Kraft) Wheatley; siblings, Eric O’Rourke, Karicia Kraft, Corbin Smith, Randa Leonard, Aydric Adams, and Sofia Wheatley; grandparents, Anna O’Rourke, Peggy Kraft, and Christine and Stephen Wheatley; nephew, Sebastian Rife; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Nick was preceded in death by his father, Daryl, and best friend and cousin, Anthony O’Rourke.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville. Interment will be in New Marshfield Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests donations to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
