Nickolas “Nick” Shane Alvey was called home on Sunday, July 9, 2023. He was born December 21, 1970 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Ronald Dean Alvey and Devera Jean Alvey. He was the second of six children. He was raised on the family farm in Wendell, north of Buhl and attended school in Buhl. At an early age he was interested in taking things apart just to put them back together. There wasn’t much Nick couldn’t fix! He worked for local farmers, fish farms, the mink farm, and with good friends on their family’s dairies. He like to stay busy while in school and worked for R&B Grocery. He then worked at Silva’s Auto Body and Repair where he learned auto body and painting. His true passion was always cars.
He married Robyn Clark on February 19, 1991. Their daughter was born later that year in October and their son came 3 years later in September of 1994. Nick worked many jobs (multiple at one time) to provide for his family. Most every job he held was working on cars or trucks for many years. When he was not working he would help his friends and family on their cars, and was always there to help if he was asked or not. He enjoyed learning new things and sharing his knowledge when he could. He was working for the City of Buhl and delivering chemical to cement plants across Southern Idaho at the time of his death.
Nick has a special place in his heart for kids and animals. Kids would gravitate towards him and he always made time for them. He and Shane refused to give up on any animal.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Edna Alvey and Arthur and Veda Montgomery, Uncle Johnny Vecera, Nephew Tye Alvey, sister-in-law Leslie Clark and Father-in-law, Darwin Clark.
He is survived by his parents; his loving wife; daughter, Chelsea Alvey (Jay) of Nampa, Id.; son Shane Alvey (Taylor) of Filer, Id.; grandkids that were the joys of his life, Caydun, Easton, Trayson, Raylyn, Bryton, and McKenna; brothers, Ronald Jr (Gilean) Alvey, Tod (Cheri) Alvey, Kacey (Tawna) Alvey; sisters, Amber (Bob) Williams, Lacey (Gene) Silonis; mother-in-law, Dianne Clark; sisters-in-law, Charee Alvey, Shari (Mahmoud) Elmadhoun, Andrea Clark; brother-in-law Benjamin (Sway) Clark; many, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many good friends that have become family through the years.
He enjoyed good times with friends and family even if they were working while they were visiting. He loved family gatherings and getting to catch up with everyone and he was always checking in on his friends to make sure they were okay. He was taken from this earth too soon and he will be forever missed. He left a big hole in our hearts and lives that will never be replaced.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Chapel 130 9th Ave N. Buhl, Id. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the L.D.S. Church 501 Main St. Buhl, Idaho. Interment will be after the service at the West End Cemetery in Buhl.
