Nicole Vergo-Pope
Age 37, passed away Wednesday February 19, 2025 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center.
Survived by her loving husband Justin Pope; parents John and Kim Vergo; in-laws Richard and Wendy Pope; two brothers-in-law Ricky and Bradley Pope; maternal grandmother Kathleen Keasler; uncle Robert (Sharon) Vergo; aunt Michele (Guy) Grimmer; lifelong friends Jamie and Natalie Mannarelli; her fur babies, Tucker and Tallulah. Numerous cousins and dearest friends also survive.
Preceded in death by maternal grandfather Thomas G. Keasler Sr.; great grandmother Kay Notto; paternal grandparents Ronald J. and Mary Jane Vergo; uncles Tommy Keasler Jr. and Stephen Vergo.
Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident. Nicole graduated from Plainfield South High School, Class of 2006. She was employed by Cornerstone Services. Nicole and Justin met in Kindergarten and started dating in 2012. They married February 29, 2020 and would have celebrated their 5th anniversary. Nicole loved fashion, makeup, cooking and animals.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 2-7 p.m. and Wednesday 9-11 a.m.

My Sincerest Condolences to the Family of Nicole and to Justin and Eli. Nicole was such a sweetheart, who was always kind to everyone at Black Road. Nicole and I connected over our love of The Golden Girls, candy and talking about nails and makeup. The last Friday, before we left work for the weekend; we laughed and had playful banter about our week and music. I will cherish the many memories I have of coming to your office and getting my sunshine for the day. You will be sincerely and deeply missed.
