With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Noah DeBerry, who died peacefully on October 9, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born on November 26, 1930, Noah lived a long and honorable life defined by his deep devotion to his wife and family, a tenacious work ethic, and a steadfast faith in God. He was a man of quiet strength and stead purpose, whose life served as a true example of love, sacrifice, and spiritual integrity.
Noah served in the United States Air Force, earning his honorable discharge in December of 1952. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a self-employed businessman, known for his dependability, honesty, and work ethic. He ultimately retired in Woodbury, Tennessee, returning to the hills near his and his beloved wife Willa's childhood homes: a place that always remained close to his heart.
Noah's life was filled with lasting friendships, with relatives, colleagues, and church brothers and sisters who knew him as a man of warmth, integrity, and quiet faith. He valued community, showing up for others not with fanfare, but with consistency and care. These relationships were a cherished part of his journey, and the love he gave was returned many times over.
Although his health was compromised during the last couple of years, Noah fought the inevitable with great fortitude. In his final days, he was awake and interactive, surrounded by his beloved wife of 74 years, Willa, his children, grandchildren, and numerous friends and relatives. He found joy in visits, sharing laughter, and joking with family members, creating precious memories even in those closing moments.
He is survived by his wife, Willa DeBerry; his children, Cliff (Stacy) DeBerry, Phil (Darlene) DeBerry, and Gwen (Larry) Sokolowski; his grandchildren: Phillip (Kathryn) DeBerry, Taylor (Brittnie) DeBerry, Samantha DeBerry and David (Julianne) DeBerry; and his great-grandchildren: Bohden, Maeve, Doak, Roane, Draper, and Winnie. Each of them carries forward a part of his legacy, one built on love, faith, and perseverance. He is also survived by his siblings, Lee Davenport and Charles Randall DeBerry both of Murfreesboro and sister-in-law, Sepal DeBerry of Murfreesboro.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Doak Delono DeBerry & Jennie Harrell DeBerry; and siblings, Verna O'Neal, Roberta DeBerry, Lonnie DeBerry and Bonnie Landrum, John DeBerry, Rachel DeBerry.
Throughout his life, Noah found strength in his relationship with God and joy in the family he so deeply cherished. He worked tirelessly to provide and protect, and he lived with humility, purpose, and grace.
A service to honor Noah's life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Woodbury Funeral Home where family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable man.
Funeral Services will be at 1 pm Monday, October 13, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Hill Cemetery. His family will receive friends for the visitation from 4 pm to 8 pm Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Woodbury Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Noah's memory to Franklin Road Church of Christ and Woodbury Church of Christ.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Noah's spirit, values, and love live on in the many lives he touched.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
