Noel Israelson Obituary
Sadly passed away on Monday December 2, 2024 at the age of
85, at his lifelong residence in Lockport, IL. Ray is a Navy
Veteran, and a career railroader, retiring in 2000 after working 35
years with the E J & E Ry and Amtrak. Ray and Carol spent the last
few years, snow-birding in Mesa, Arizona where he enjoyed
gathering with family and going to Spring Training to see his
beloved Chicago Cubs. Ray will always be remembered as a very
proud Papa to his many grandchildren and devoted dad and
husband. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol
Israelson; children Debora (Mike) Lathim, Gary (Sandra)
Israelson, Terri (Todd) McGraw, and Brad Israelson; sister Iris (the
late Leonard) Chapp; grandchildren Ashley (Adam) Salazar, Noel
(David) Ellis, Johna (Josh) Yeager, Marrissa (Dan) Edens, Gary
Israelson, Alyssa (John) Letsos, Ana Israelson, Michael McGraw,
Matthew McGraw, Nathan McGraw, and Nicholas Israelson; great
grandchildren Emily, Jenna, Gabriel, Ethan, and Logan, also
many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Cubbie.
Preceded in death by his parents Gustave (Lena) Israelson,
and siblings Jean (John) Sword, Juanita (Robert) Gilkerson, Nona
(Thomas) McClew, Alan Israelson, and Hope (Charles) Marsh.
Visitation Monday December 16, 2024, from 10:00 am until the
time of service 1:00 pm at Anderson Memorial Home, 21131 W.
Renwick Rd., Plainfield, IL 60544. Interment to follow at
Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet.
