Nokie (Gevedon) Myers, age 81 of Eaton, OH passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Greenbriar Nursing Home. God sent the most amazing baby, born February 3, 1942 in Keck, Kentucky, daughter of the late John and Rosa (Back) Gevedon.
Nokie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, reading, watching the Reds and UK Wildcats, and most importantly spending time with her family. She was loved by everyone and she always had a smile and something nice to say to everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Nokie was preceded in death by her former husband, Glen Chasteen; late husband, Ronnie Myers; sons, Glen "Bud" Chasteen Jr. and Shane Chasteen; and daughter, Debbie "Deb" Chasteen.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Mark) Miller, Lori (Don) Layton, and Mary (Jay) Lakes; sons, Bill (Jeanie) Chasteen and Jimmie Chasteen; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and one on the way; 6 great great grandchildren with one on the way; brothers, Terrill (Loma) Gevedon and Johnny (Peggy) Gevedon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friend, Donna White; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 12pm until time of memorial service at 1pm at Gard Funeral Home, 113 South Ada Doty Street in Gratis, OH with Bryon Gevedon officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, OH.
