Nolan Ray Grainger (known affectionately as Ray), age 77, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on December 22nd, 2025.
Born on May 2, 1948, in
DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Ray graduated from Rutherford High School in Panama City in 1966. On June 20, 1970, he married the love of his life, Doris, and together they built a beautiful family rooted in faith and devotion.
An upstanding Christian man, Ray was a faithful member of Hiland Park Baptist Church, where his commitment to his beliefs shone through in all he did.
For over 44 years, Ray dedicated his career to Woodmen Life, selling life insurance and guiding families in planning for their future. His expertise and genuine care for others earned him numerous awards and the deep respect of those he served.
Ray's greatest joys were his family, golfing, and helping others. He was known for his kindness, intelligence, and unwavering love; a true gentleman who touched countless lives with his warmth and generosity.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris Grainger; daughter Michelle Seldenright and her husband Larry; sons Mark Grainger and Brian Grainger and his wife Christina; four grandchildren, Nathan Lord (Kathryne), Jackson Grainger (Sydney), Logan Grainger, Ella Grainger; and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Ray's life will be held at 11:00 AM, January 3rd, 2026, at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Kyle from Hiland Park Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home chapel.

Ray's legacy of faith, family, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
