Nolen Keith Carter, 67, of Rossville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. He was born in East Ridge, Tennessee on February 7, 1957 and had lived in the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas for most of his life. He graduated from Lakeview High School, Class of 1975 and was a member of Lakeview First Baptist Church. He was the Owner & Operator of Nation Taxi Company for more than 11 years and loved spending time with his family & friends. He loved being outdoors, enjoying nature, fishing and was always putting others needs before his own. He was very instrumental in coaching his sons in wrestling and sharing that tradition with his grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, N.G. Carter.
Survivors include his mother, Sally Liebe Carter; loving wife of more than 19 years, Pamela Ausbrooks Carter; children, Christopher Nolen & (Shannon) Carter, Matthew Keith Carter, Sandi Liebe Carter & (Dante) Montgomery and Gabrielle Christine Carter; sisters & brothers-in-law, Deborah & (Johnny) Parham and Cindy & (Nolan) Smith; 6 grandchildren, Kirstin Carter, Tristin Carter, Mikayla Carter, Kadein Carter, Garrett Carter and Kambri Carter; 2 great grandchildren, Kaislee Billups & Kaison McClary; special friends, Carrie Sparks; several nieces, nephews and numerous extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2024 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Bro. Patrick Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens. Kadein Carter, Marquise Allen, Keegan Kinsey, Ethan Kinsey, Mike Webb, Billy Quinten and Johnny Hail will serve as pallbearers and Tristin Carter and Garrett Carter and the Carter Wrestling Academy will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 3~8 p.m. on Sunday and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by W. L.
