Miss Nona "NoNo" McCalop, 65, of Holcomb, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was born June 19, 1958 in Carrollton to C.D. and Dorothy Jean Wood McCalop. NoNo spent over 30 years working at Pennaco Hosiery in Grenada. She spent the last 19 years working with the Grenada School District. NoNo possessed a unique ability to relate to children and also was a faithful caregiver to her brother, Sonny.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Sunday, April 14, 2024 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Immediately following visitation, a graveside service will follow at the Holcomb Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating.
Survivors include three brothers, Donald McCalop(Lynda), Cyril McCalop and Guy McCalop, all of Holcomb; nieces, Donna Brown(Shane), Leigh Ann Melton(Ryan), Beth Donahoe and McKenzie McCalop; great-niece, Molly Melton and great-nephews, Joey Brown and Calop Brown(Olivia).
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Wayne "Big Mike" McCalop and long-time companion, Danny Ledford.
Calop Brown, Joey Brown, Shane Brown, Ryan Jennings, Stanley McDonald and Ryan Melton will honor NoNo by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Holcomb Cemetery.
