Norbert F. Slezak Jr.

1939 - 2026

Norbert F. Slezak Jr., 86, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital. Born February 19, 1939, in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late Norbert F. Slezak Sr. and the late Ruth N. (Murray) Slezak. Norb was a graduate of Aliquippa High School and went on to attend Valley Forge Military Academy and Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business. He honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. Norb worked for International Harvester, Carnegie Mellon University, and the Butler Area School District, retiring as an electrician in 2003. He was a member of Hill U.P. Church in Butler, serving as an elder for four years. Norb was a DeMolay Chevalier, a Past Master of Victory Lodge, No. 694 F & AM, and was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, Council and Commandery (Butler), Allied Masonic Degrees, and Peninsula Council (Meadville). Hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family were things that he enjoyed very much. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy J. (Scott) Slezak, whom he married on July 6, 1963; his son, Scott D. Slezak, and his wife, Lisa, of Trafford; his daughter, Sarah Jane Wallace of Boston, MA; his grandchildren, Morgan, Tyler, Anna, and John; his brother-in-law, Robert Ernest Scott; his sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Scott; a number of cousins; and his dog, Muffin. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME INC., 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001. A Masonic service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME INC., with Rev. Leigh Benish of Hill U.P. Church officiating. He will be laid to rest in North Side Cemetery, Butler.
