Sister Norine L. Mitchell

Norine L. Mitchell, moved to Dade City, Florida during 2020 and lived here until God's light led her to his bosom on January 9, 2026. Norine was born on October 25, 1935, in Old Bainbridge County, South Carolina to late Ruth and the late John Davis. She was the third child born to this union of which one sister and two brothers have also proceeded her in death. At a young age she joined Miller Swamp Missionary Baptist Church, Fairfax, South Carolina. She continued her Christian journey throughout her life and was an active member at, Living Waters United Church in Dade City, Florida until her passing. Norine attended Allendale County School where she completed a 10th grade education and entered the workforce as a seamstress. She maintained this form of employment until she retired from the Mohawk Carpet Company of South Carolina. As a young adult she met, and married the late Roger Lee, Sr. (d.1991) and five children were born to this union. She was proceeded in death by: her husband, Rodger Lee, Sr.; her only daughter, Rena Gregory (2019), and one grandchild Timothy Gregory (2023). Norine lived in South Carolina and Florida moving and relocating several times over her lifetime. Norine was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a strong woman who lived independently for 90 years until her health failed. She touched many with her loving advice, guidance, and check in phone calls. She is survived by: her four sons, Roger Lee, Jr. of Miami, Florida., Marion (Juanita) Lee of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Gregory Lee (Oretha Davis) and Randolph Lee (Mary Williams) both of Dade City, Florida; one sister Gloria (Waldron) Cephas, of Monks Corner, South Carolina; one brother, John Henry Smalls of Charleston, South Carolina; a special daughter in love, Mrs. Hortense Miller Lee of Sandusky, Ohio. She was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren (Kenauri Moss, Aaliyah Gregory and Amir Lee). She shared a special relationship with her grandson, Kobe Oneil and goddaughter, Elmira; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.
