She was born in Akron on March 12, 1937 to the late Joseph and Amelia DiLauro and graduated from North High School in 1954 before attending the University of Akron. It was there that she met Donald Allcorn after a Veterans Day concert. It was love at first sight and they married on February 22, 1963.
Norma was dedicated to raising her family which grew to include five children. Family was the most important thing to Norma. She loved making holidays and birthdays special. She made everyone feel important and loved on their special days. She and Don were happily married 41 years until his passing in 2004.
Norma was a devout Christian and maintained her strong faith even after attending church was no longer possible. She loved singing and was a member of the choir with her husband at every church she attended. She lived her faith through kindness and generosity to friends and strangers alike. Norma was so well-loved that she became an unofficial "Mom" to numerous people in her life.
In addition to her parents, Norma is now reunited with her husband Donald and son, Pete.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Heidi, Don (Kristen), Susan (Rockie) Brockway, and Chris; siblings, Ginni, Jodi, Joe (Donna), and Steve (Kay); grandchildren, Tamara (Craig), DaleVon, Natalie (Dominic), and Helen; eight great-grandchildren; along with a host of countless cousins, family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 10 am -12 noon, followed by a 12 noon funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Norma will be privately laid to rest at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
