Norma Ann Couillard (Offner), age 84 of Shafer, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her lifelong passion for fishing, her deep love of family, and her enthusiasm for plants and animals.
Born on August 15, 1940, Norma was the daughter of Alfred and Grace Offner who resided in Valley City, North Dakota. She was raised on a farm and spent her life surrounded by nature, often pursuing her favorite pastime of fishing and walleye hunting, skills she mastered over many years. Norma loved painting, arts and crafts, and gardening. She had an amazing green thumb and was known for her expertise in plants, often offering advice to friends and family. Her passion for animals and her hobby farm were a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Norma was a devoted mother to her sons, Craig and Cory (Kim) Couillard, and she was deeply proud of her grandchildren, Katrina, Sebastian, Erin, Emme, and Sydney. She is also survived by her sisters Mavis Lee, Pam Stark, and Sandy Smith, and her brother Jerry Offner. Norma was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Couillard, her ex-husband, Roger Couillard, and her brothers Keith and Fred Offner.
Her stubbornness, quirky humor, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Norma's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her with love and appreciation.
