Norma "Jean" Donald a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went to meet her Lord and Savior March 8, 2025 at the age of 83 surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born May 13, 1941 in St John's, MI to Elmer Stewart and Eula (Rose) Stewart. On August 15, 1959 she married the love of her life Charles (Chuck) Donald also of St Johns, MI. They settled together in Maple Rapids, MI where they raised their two children Teresa (Donald) Price and Pete Donald. Jean spent her children's youthful years serving her family as a beloved homemaker and as they entered middle school she joined them, becoming a paraprofessional at Fulton Schools. She enjoyed over 20 years of service at Fulton Schools until she retired in order for her and Chuck to live out their dreams of becoming winter snowbirds in Florida. Chuck and Jean enjoyed Florida winters together for nearly 30 years until her husband's passing in January 2024. Jean's favorite days were spent at the beach on a hot sunny day. She loved to watch the waves and walk the shoreline with her husband seeking treasures. Vacations in Florida were her favorite, with lunch dates at Sonny's BBQ, and afternoons spent with friends and family. She especially loved when her family came to visit them in Florida for spring break and the many adventures that brought them over the years; especially to Disney World. Jean enjoyed vacationing to the Upper Peninsula during her summers in Michigan and had recently made two specific trips with family that she cherished; she loved hunting rocks on Lake Superior. She also enjoyed following her grandchildren and great grandchildren around the State of Michigan cheering them on at their many sporting events. Jean loved to craft and was able to share this passion with her great grandchildren in her later years which she enjoyed. She truly cherished all the wonderful memories made with family around the holidays and traveling to many places around the United States over the years.
Jean is survived by her daughter Teresa Price and Son Pete (Mary) Donald. Grandchildren Kelsie (Jason) Smith, Allison Bancroft, Melanie (Andre) Bergeron, Jeremy (Samantha) Price, Aaron (Amanda Ostrom) Donald, and Dakota (Richele) Price. Great grandchildren Aiden, Madelyn, and Chloe Smith, Eleanor and Henry Bancroft, Camilla, Cassius, Cruz, and Creed Bergeron, Alexus, Brienna, Amada, Makalah, and Kale Price, Gabriella and Kalen Price, and Jack Donald. She is survived by her brother Bob Stewart and sister in-law and best friend Marlene Stewart. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Chuck Donald, son in-law Kale Price, her parents, brother Leon Stewart, sister in-law Ann Stewart, father in-law and mother in-law Ezra and Francis (Conklin) Donald.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to New Haven Church of the Brethren's building fund in order to support the plan for additional Sunday school classrooms. This was Jean's beloved church home for many years and up until her passing.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11 am at the New Haven Church of the Brethren with Pastor Brian Ruth officiating. Interment will follow in Beach Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of services at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dodge Funeral Home, Middleton.
