Norma E. (Quindley) Duarte, 78, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was the widow of Joseph A. Duarte, who passed away in 1998.
Born in Middleboro, Norma was the daughter of the late Norman E. and Barbara M. (Williams) Quindley.
She went to secretarial school and worked for Rand McNally for many years. Norma was active with the Church on the Green in Middleboro and also was a Rainbow Girl who loved to read and was known for being a phenomenal baker of sweets. Above all her favorite activity was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Jay Duarte and his wife Barbara, Barbara Menard and her husband Kenneth, and Joseph Duarte and his wife Cheryl, all of Taunton; her brother, Richard Quindley and his wife Constance of Alton Bay, NH; sister-in-law, Patricia Quindley of Plymouth; brother-in-law, James Duarte of Taunton; grandchildren, Taylor Duarte, Jaycee Duarte and Collin Duarte; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Andrew Quindley.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton at 10:00am on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, where her funeral service will take place at 11:00am. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 24th, from 5-8pm.
