MORTON – Norma R. Eldridge, 90, of Morton, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born on September 26, 1932, in Carlinville, Ill., to Earl Christoff and Agnes (Johnson) Raab. Norma married Arthur Eldridge on June 18, 1954, in Carlinville, Ill. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris Gartner.
Surviving are her children, Mark (Bonnie) Eldridge of St. Paul, Minn., Christa Eldridge of Morton and Claire (Steve) Hilsen of Winona Lake, Ind.; three grandchildren, Ben and Darren Hilsen and Earl Eldridge; and one brother, Lloyd Raab of Carlinville, Ill.
Norma was employed as a physical education teacher and librarian for Morton Unit School District 709 for many years.
She was a member of Community United Church of Christ in Morton, where she was an active member since 1955, serving on various committees and outreach ministries.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at Community United Church of Christ, in Morton, with Rev. Chuck Maney officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m., Friday, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
Norma's family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Apostolic Christian Restmor for the loving and compassionate care they provided to their mother over the years.
Memorials may be made to Community United Church of Christ.
