Norma Lee Kistler Grant, 85, died peacefully at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, N.C. on December 4, 2023, after an extended illness. Born in Smithfield on August 24, 1938, to Foster and Myrtle Kistler, Norma had one sister Cheryl Boyette (Bill). Norma graduated from Smithfield High School in 1957 and then went to Peace College. She had a long career with Martin Marietta. She was an avid tennis player and active in several Garner area community organizations throughout the years. After retiring, she went to work with the family business, The Clubhouse Restaurant, where she catered, and never met a stranger. Norma was always the life of the party!
Norma is survived by her husband, James Lawrence Grant, daughter Leigh Ann Tomlinson (Mark), son Mike Grant (Kim), and granddaughter Morgan Grant.
Arrangements will be made through Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner, N.C. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in honor of Norma to the Johnston Health Foundation, Hospice Fund, P. O. Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577, or donate online at www.johnstonhealth.org/donate and specify Hospice Fund.
